Responding to a need for a “business only” online video service, JunkTube makes its debut.
Stateline, NV. December 5, 2007. The rise of social networking sites like YouTube, FaceBook, and MySpace have not only been a boon to makers of funny videos – they have become a tool for savvy online marketers to sell their wares. Everything from music to used cars is sold via online video. However, many companies are finding a problem with these sites – the “free access to everyone” creates an environment that is not conducive to business, driving merchants away. Samuel Anderson, Managing Partner of Tekbrokers VENTURES, LLC, recognized the need for a “business only” online video model, and created JunkTube, an online video service that caters to business and commerce, which launches next week. “One thing I heard over and over was that businesses would LOVE to sell via video, but they had reservations about sharing space with an underage girl with a webcam,” says
Anderson. “And let’s face it – that’s what these other sites have become – flirt fests, risqué content, and funny pet videos. JunkTube won’t have any of that.” And what will JunkTube have? “Business – just business,” says Anderson “The premise is if you have something to sell, be it a product or service your company produces, music, or even a lawnmower in your garage, JunkTube will be the place to do it. You can upload your video for members and visitors to see, without the fear of sharing the same page with something distasteful.” Anderson, an online security expert, plans to keep out undesirable content two ways – by charging a small fee to join, and then careful screening: “We have a nominal signup fee of $2.00, which will keep out the kids and match name and addresses, and then we carefully screen all content on an individual basis. Nothing gets uploaded without being looked at.”
Anderson notes that Tekbrokers was the creator of EmployACT employee verification service and degree verification system, and BobCOP, the online police reporting portal for law enforcement agencies, so they have plenty of experience when it comes to integrity of content and the proper policing of a site. He also feels that this type of business model is exactly what companies and individuals looking to sell have been clamoring for. “Video is a great sales tool,” commented
Anderson “You just have to present it properly, and within the context of a respectful business environment. This is exactly what we have done.” About Tekbrokers VENTURES, LLC.Samuel Anderson is the owner and Managing Partner of Tekbrokers VENTURES, LLC, which develops cutting edge products like JunkTube, and puts patient, intelligent and experienced capital to work.
